As a native Chattanoogan, I have seen a great deal of change over the years–particularly in the downtown area of the city. More and more, top-quality developers are choosing to invest in our town because of all of the wonderful things it has to offer.
Today’s announcement of the naming of the Edwin Hotel is special because it gives a nod to Chattanooga’s rich history by naming the brand new, 90-room luxury hotel after the engineer who designed the iconic Walnut Street Bridge, Edwin Thacher.
Mitch Patel, who is president and CEO of Vision Hospitality Group, the local company that is building The Edwin–is a great champion for Chattanooga. I know that he and his team will make this project a special destination for visitors to Chattanooga.
Having a unique property like this–built by a local company and featuring the work of local artists–will be a tremendous asset for downtown for decades to come.
